What happens to my data?

Grantable Data Handling

It's important for users to have a clear understanding of how data is handled in Grantable. This includes documents uploaded to an account and answers created in Grantable. This article will explain what happens to data and how it is secured.

Here is the data security policy from Grantable's database provider.

Document uploads

The documents you upload are held privately and stored within the organization account you upload them into.

You can create a different organization and upload documents to each workspace and no data is shared between workspaces.

Content

All the content you create is stored privately and securely within our database. It is not shared with other organizations.

GPT Data Handling

When you access AI features, Grantable sends only the content within your query to the large language model, which produces written outputs. Here is OpenAI's data privacy policy, which as of Wednesday, July 19, 2023 states:

Starting on March 1, 2023, we are making two changes to our data usage and retention policies:

OpenAI will not use data submitted by customers via our API to train or improve our models, unless you explicitly decide to share your data with us for this purpose. You can opt-in to share data.

Any data sent through the API will be retained for abuse and misuse monitoring purposes for a maximum of 30 days, after which it will be deleted (unless otherwise required by law).
